British Columbia, a Province of Canada

Canada and especially the western Province
British Columbia, is my favorite destination for vacation.br> Together with Dagmar Barthruff (died in 2000)
and with Mrs. and Mr. Kreye we've had many good
holidays. Mostly with campfire talks every evening.

Vancouver is the most beautifull city that I know. This is a view from Stanley Park.
Most of the pictures are from a tour in 1993, but Vancouver is a rapid changing city.

The valley of the Fraser river with an often changing countryside,
many grazing land, fantastic valleys with sometimes
scanty and sometimes abundant vegetation.

Chainridge got it's name from it's look,
an impressive massif

All campgrounds we found were nice, but for us the most beautifull ones
were the Forrest Campgrounds that we found allways
close to water and mostly way down in nature.

Little Big Bar Lake, a nice lake that you can only find on side roads.
No signs of much tourism, I love it.

Ptarmigan Recreation is the name of this little campground. Ptarmigans
are little birds you will not see very often. In the winter time, they have white feathers.

Quesnel and Williams Lake are two cities at the Fraser river,
there is a ferry close to Quesnel that will bring you to the other site.
The road on the west side of the Fraser is a gravel road, but therefore much nicer
than the tourist crowded paved road east.

One of the most spectacular waterfalls of the Rocky Mountains are the
Takakkaw Falls, the roaring sound can be heard from far away.

Visiting my lovely friend Theresa. We were wellcome and friendly
greated also by the kids, who are grown ups today.

Julia has allready finished College and
Richard is on Highschool (or maybe he has finished it yet.)

Masks made by indians. You can see those beautifull things and much
more in the National Museum in Victoria.
Nobody should pass this museum, even a detour is worth a visit!
I haven't seen any museum like this one.

Valleys draped in clouds you can see at the Fraser.
